Marriage Policy: The Cheyenne Diocese requires that couples planning to marry in a parish within the Cheyenne Diocese give at least six months advanced notice of their marriage plans. If one party is not of the Catholic Faith, the couple may still be married in the Catholic Church. The non-Catholic party is not required to join the Catholic Church in order to be married in the Catholic Church. Couples planning to marry at St. Francis Church in Thermopolis are asked to call the pastor at (307) 864-2674.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter helps good marriages become better. The weekend is deisgined to help married couples communicate more intimately with one another in order to deepend and enrich their relationship. The weekend is free from everyday routines, distractions and tensions. An atmosphere is created where the couple can concentrate exclusively on one another in a private and confidential environment. A series of presentations that touch on many aspects of marriage is given by three couples and a Catholic priest. After each presentation, the couple has time in the privacy of their own room for personal sharing using the communication techniques learned on the weekend. The weekends are held in a hotel or at a retreat facility. To request further information, or to register, call Steve & Debbie Robbins, Gillette, WY at (307) 686-7471. For Catholic Men: Married & Single: This website by Catholic News Agency offers information on spirituality, and has testimonies from men who have a sincere desire to seek personal and spiritual growth. Sometimes, men do not reach out for help when they are in need, or they don't know how to reach out. The truth is that they are not alone. They have much to offer to others from their own personal experience of searching for purpose and meaning in life.

Retrouvaille (a program for troubled marriages) is a weekend in which husbands and wives are helped to re-establish communication and to gain new insihts into themselves as individuals and as a couple. Retrouvaille is a French word meaning "rediscovery." The weekend is not a spiritual retreat, not a sensitivity group, not a seminar, not a social gathering, nor is it counseling. The weekend will help you discover how listening, forgiveness, communication, and the dialogue process are powerful aids for building a loving and lasting relationship. Retrouvaille weekends are held at either a local hotel or a retreat facility. There are follow-up programs to the Retrouvaille weekend. Retrouvaille communities are actively serving most of the United States of America, many provinces of Canada, Central and South America, Africa, Europe, Mexico, the Western Pacific region (Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, and the Philippines), and the Caribbean region (Cuba and Trinidad). An Annulment from Marriage: The Catholic Church teaches that baptized individuals that enter into a Sacramental Marriage are taking on the duty and obligation to remain faithful in the marriage, and that the marriage ends only at the death of one's spouse. If a marriage ends in a divorce, the Church can assist you in a healing process. You may apply for an annulment as part of the healing process, if you plan to enter a second union in the Catholic Church. When the Church grants a Declaration of Invalidity, the Church is not saying that you entered the marriage with ill-will, or with moral fault, or that a real relationship did not exist between the two parties. A Declaration of Invalidity merely states that at least one essential element was absent at the time when the couple enter the marriage. A Declaration of Invalidity does not mean that the children from that union are illegitimate. They are legitimate in the eyes of the Church and in the eyes of the State. If you would like to speak to somene about an annulment, you may speak to your pastor, or call the Marriage Tribunal of the Cheyenne Diocese at this toll-free number: 1-866-790-0014. Or, you may visit the web page of the Marriage Tribunal by clicking on this link: http://www.dioceseofcheyenne.org/nmin_tribunal.html

Rachel's Vineyard: Retreats for Healing after Abortion: These weekend retreats are a wonderful opportunity for any person who has struggled with the emotional or spiirtual pain of an abortion. The retreat is a very specific process designed to help you experience the mercy and compassion of God. It is also an opportunity to surface and release repressed feelings of anger, shame, guilt and grief. There are many exercises to help you grieve the loss of your unborn child and to receive and accept God's forgiveness. The retreat concludes with a Memorial Service. The weekend will help transform the pain of the past into love and hope.
Women and men have found much support and encouragement in the message from Pope John Paul II in the document, The Gospel of Life, in which he says, "I would like to say a special word to women who have had an abortion. The Church is aware of the many factors which may have influenced your decision, and she does not doubt that in many cases it was a painful and even shattering decision. The wound in your heart may not yet have healed. Certainly what happened was and remains terribly wrong. but do not give in to discouragement and do not lose hope
. . .The Father of mercies is ready to give you His forgiveness and His peace [through reconciliation]. . .You will come to understand that nothing is definitely lost and you will also be able to ask forgiveness from your child, who is now living in the Lord."
If you or a friend are hurting from an abortion, please call our toll-free national hotline at: 1-877-HOPE-4-ME You will find the dates and places in your area where these retreats are being held by clicking on this link: http://www.rachelsvineyard.org/
